Inspired to Play

Hey there! First and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and show your support! It means the world to me that you are here! Let me tell you a little bit more about me!

My name is Hannah! I have one wise and caring stepdaughter who is 8 years old, and two boys who are 2 years old and 5 months old. I am engaged to the love of my life; we have known each other 8 years, and been together 4. My family is the inspiration and purpose behind every little thing I do! Our house may be filled with a lot of crazy, but it is also filled with a whole lot of love!

I have been an Early Childhood Educator for 10+ years, and have worked in Full Day Kindergarten since 2014. I am passionate about the potential of play/inquiry based learning, and believe that this learning can happen both at home and at school.

I created my Instagram page, Inspired to Play, during my first maternity leave to share the activities we loved in hopes of inspiring other families to incorporate play into their everyday with simple activities, ideas and materials.

Fast forward to today, I am 5 months into my second maternity leave, but the world feels a little different this time around. Life as a new mom/SAH mom can feel lonely and isolating as it is…but throw a global pandemic and lockdown into the mix and it can seem downright impossible to cope. It started to feel increasingly important for me to expand and share my honest stories of motherhood in addition to our adventures in play. This is where the idea of The Playful Mama was born. I hope my stories connect with you, and that you know that I am right here with you on this journey mamas!
